When developing carbon projects and accruing the associated carbon credits, projects often have a range of other environmental, social, cultural or economical benefits. Carbon project implementers or landholders could be eligible to submit these co-benefits to the regulator for a premium price on top of the given carbon credit value.
Examples of possible co-benefits include:
Increasing of land biodiversity value
Increased indigenous engagement
Improved soil health and climate resilience
Please see the Clean Energy Regulator website for more information on carbon co-benefits.
